Eden Reforestation Projects

Eden's model pairs mangrove and dryland reforestation with permanent local-hire employment for previously-impoverished communities. They have planted over a billion trees since founding and operate one of the most rigorously documented planting programmes in the sector.

Mangroves sequester 4-10× more carbon per hectare than terrestrial forests and protect coastal communities from climate-driven storm surge. Eden's poverty-reduction co-benefit is also the cleanest impact story we can tell alongside the carbon math.
